Title: Glass storage vessel - identification request
Post by: jonnybrum on October 23, 2010, 03:08:41 PM
 Hi

Not sure if you guys can help me with this piece.   I'm assuming its original intended purpose was a storage vessel of some description (although maybe the lid has been subsequently added). Nice heavy piece but sadly not marked.  Bottom shows signs of age.

Any ideas..

Thanks
Jon

Moving to Glass as no-one replied in Scandi. I wonder if it might be Polish?

is the lid wooden please?
I can't tell from the pics.  Just wondering as I have a Scandinavian studio jar/vase that came with a wooden lid.  The person who sold it to me wasn't sure if the lid should have been with it, but in fact it looks good.  So I wondered if there might have been a 'thing' for adding wooden lids at some point.  Not saying this is Scandinavian though.
Probably way off beam but just a thought :ooh:

Looks like a marriage between a Krosno vase and a teak lid...
