Title: Strange "chemist like" carafe - ID = a porrón
Post by: 19glass75 on October 24, 2010, 03:11:08 PM
I was browsing the sight a few nights ago and a few images stuck in my mind. There was a link with a photo of a glass maker and his pieces. The man looked in his 40's maybe and had a beard and was surround by these clear glass objects. The next day i was in my local charity shop and saw what i thought was one of his pieces. It is 16.5cm at it tallest part and the base is 9.5cm wide with a ruff pontil. Any help?(http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu51/19boo75/egg011.jpg)(http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu51/19boo75/egg013.jpg)
Oh yes and the bottle seems to be ribbed!

It looks like a piece of tourist tat from Spain, for pouring sangria down the necks of (soon to be) drunken fools (guess who doesn't drink much). :wsh:

Thanks for the info. U'd be lucky to get a glass of wine in this one. They must make smaller ones
