I bought this amber (almost orange) vase with cut oval lenses, thinking it could be Czech. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find proof. :-\
The vase is 18cm tall and has an ever-so-slightly concave base. The optical effect of the cut lenses against the uncut area is really lovely, but difficult to photograph. I think the vase is 70s.
Thank you for looking. :)

Looks good, bet it looks fantastic in direct sunlight. I do not think I have seen one before, if not Czech then possibly German.

fairly sure I've seen this listed somewhere as Czech....
-
John, you're right... it does look stunning in direct sunlight!
Greg, I've searched the whole of Jindrich's site, including the glass review from the 60s to the 70s... I couldn't find the piece anywhere. It would be lovely if the vase were Czech, but on the other hand, German or any other country would be just fine with me too. It's a good vase and I'll enjoy it, no matter what. :)

I think it's very nice, I hope to pick one up too if I have a chance. I also think it's German or Czech. Though I haven't seen this particular model or colour from them, the Friedrich factory in Germany did some cut lenses models in the 60s-70s. Maybe the name helps as a possibly area of research (unless a real Friedrich connaisseur wants to set me straight...)

Thank you, Astrid... I've taken a look at Friedrich, as well as other German glassworks, but haven't been able to find my vase. But I'll continue to search -- afterall, my piece does looks familiar, and I'm sure I've seen it somewhere. But where?
P.S. Astrid, I love looking at your collection of glass. You've got some really beautiful pieces!

I( love your Czech glass :hi:

Really nice piece, like it a lot!

so what's this then, the Anik appreciation society day :24:

Think it must be! Doesn't everyone deserve an 'Appreciation Day' once in a while? Just let me know when it's my turn please!
-
Paul, did you take a look at Astrid's gallery? She's got some very attractive German pieces (not to mention the Czech glass... but everyone knows I've got a 'thing' for Czech).
And I appreciate everyone who wishes to contribute to a thread. :)
Now back to my lovely cut vase...

Thanks Anik! Still looking for a way to take better pictures (some sort of lighting set up maybe). I'm envious of how some people manage to make glass look really good in their galleries... But I guess you managed to see right through my amateurish attempts and still behold the beauty of some pieces. Great!

:pb: I think I misread/misunderstood this originally. Bad brain day.

Just a tiny-itty-bitty bump... does anyone recognize the vase? Is it German, Czech or something else?
Thank you :)

I thought I'd give this one more go... Any new ideas? I no longer think the vase is Czech, but don't quite know what it could be.
Thank you for looking. :)
