Identifying this has eluded me. It's a pretty vase with the amber core surrounded, it appears (although that could be an optical illusion),by a slim very neat darker amber strip and then clear with the flanges on either side. The base and the clear bit surrounding the dark amber strip (but not the flanges) glows in the dark quite strongly. I would say uranium glow rather than manganese but I haven't managed to be able to take a pic.
It seems to have some age. The base is ground flat and the flanges curve round right down into the base. Sits well with my Czech pieces but for some reason I think it is Murano. I don't think it is new, but I could be wrong. It's 22cm tall and about 12-12.5cm wide.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Many thanks

i think its Czech but have no resources to prove it.

If you need to go in the dark to see the glow it is never uranium. It's manganese. Clear is never uranium glass. I think you have amber cased in clear with added wings; just two colours and layers. Anything else is an optical illusion.

Thanks :) so not sommerso or uranium.
I am lost on this one. I 'think' it is Murano for some reason, the wings, the way it is cased and the pulled rim at the top. On the other hand, that same pulled rim at the top means it sits well with my Hospodka pieces (as does the colour). :-\ and the way the casing is at the bottom, that sort of squarish shape rather than rounded/oval casing doesn't quite fit in with Murano pieces I have seen. Irritating but a very pretty little vase. I don't feel it is a new repro - it's quite small and neat as a piece and very nicely done, nothing 'overblown' about it, although I realise that isn't enough to discount a more recent piece.
thanks again.

Hi: I'm fairly sure that your piece is Murano. I have a fairly similar piece with a similar glow (manganese). I've seen the piece elsewhere with a Genuine Venetian Glass sticker on it. I'll attach the pics.

Although I do not know who made it, I agree with a Murano attribution on this piece. It does not really feel Czech to me....
