that, in glassmaking terms, is known as the half post technique.

Just to clarify the name refers to the use of the horse with the blower standing as opposed to working sitting in the chair.

thanks!  I love to see these descriptions and pics, because I've only ever seen one glassblowing and am always trying to imagine how things are made.  :)

Get yourself down to your nearest artists studio... mostly they will be happy to let you watch them work. Some will get you involved.
