Title: LARGE HAND BLOWN DOUBLE SPOUT VASE W/ APPLIED GLASS
Post by: dorian_graye on October 26, 2010, 07:50:29 PM
Hello all.  Just thought I'd post a recent acquisition.  The vase looks Italian to me, but I'm not sure.  I was hoping for some direction in finding out who may have designed it.  It measures 13" inches tall and has an applied layer of glass between the two mouths or spouts.  The pontil has been polished and it has several surface scratches on the base which denotes some age.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thank you.

You think so?  I've not seen Empoli pieces with such an unusual shape.  I guess I should research more to find similar pieces, if this is the case.

The endless variety of unexpected shapes is what makes Empoli Verde so special.
