I want a orrory made of Josh Simpson planets......  :sm:

and an Alister Malcolm "Platinum" vase engraved by Sue Burke with dragons to compliment the shapes of the fabulous inclusions.....  :sm:  :sm:

and a big viking boat chandelier, like the ones in the Murano hotel in Tacoma....  :sm: :sm: :sm:

But the Alison Kinnaird hurricane lamp in my local antique centre woud do. It's a very good price for her work, and it's fabby - it looks all pretty-pretty flowery, but there are skulls and snakes and fangs and copulating couples all hidden in it - and we can't even afford that.

As usual, I won't get anything..... nothing to do with not believeing in such superstitious/supernatural stuff.
Nothing wrong with having some sort of yuletide "something" to give a break in the middle of long, dark, cold winters.

(apart from the goodie bag my wee friend always gives us. She puts all sorts of useful things in it, such as a pad for writing shopping lists, with a pen and holder for it, and a magnet on the back, so it's always handy, stuck on the boiler, and some non-alcoholic chocolates for me... and liqueur chocolates for Michael.)

Hi Thomas,

Are these your pictures? The board policy is to not allow posting of other people's images without the permission of the owner, so that we avoid the quagmire of various international copyright laws. If they're not your photographs, could you please ask the owner whether they're happy for you to use them? Otherwise, it's best to just post the link to the original and we'll remove just the images.

Thanks for that!

Veronica, did you really mean a 'toy boy'  :spls:  or a boy toy?   ;D

I'd be perfectly happy and satisfied with this:  http://www.fieldingsauctioneers.co.uk/resultsLotDetails.asp?lotsID=60507&menuItemOn=2&salesID=96&hasImage=1

Toy boy is the British way of meaning boy toy, apparently.

Your email address is hidden, Veronica.

I was just being silly and vulgar-minded with the toy boy bit...  I'm sure you don't want to hear my explanation.   :spls:   (But I honestly did not know that toyboy means the same as boytoy )

:sun: maybe if the wish lists were a little more specific, results may come , this 1 is only 3 1/2 cm tall and took up very little space in Santa's sack  ;D

cheers ,

Thomas - where does this gem of a 'jug' reside............Corning,... V & A....Vatican.....St. Petersburg......The Getty...............wherever it is, I just know they don't appreciate it as much as you would.  ;)    Pity I don't believe in fairies.........anyway, I think all this talk of aged men in long white beards bringing good things is utterly, utterly stupid......and grown men/wimmin to boot.........you'd never catch me talking like that.   Mind you I could sit on his knee, and he could put his arm around me and comfort me................then I might beleive......sounds a bit like a sob sister....................someone who sits on you knee, cries, and make it hard for you :wsh:

Yes Yes Thomas  we know it is on your list  , and i am sure we would all let you have it if possible , but the question was, in the post above,

where does this gem of a 'jug' reside............Corning,... V & A....Vatican.....St. Petersburg......The Getty...............wherever it is, I just know they don't appreciate it as much as you would ,

I remember when it first came up for auction, Hee hee it was all a bit funny really , with the auctioneer stopping the auction to ask if the bids were serious , around £100,000  I think ,reassured he carried on to the final £220.000 or so , then all H--- broke loose, for the auctioneers not to have done at least a little research before the sale seems mind boggling(what do they get commission for ?), it being described as late 19thc with metal and paste mounts !"!!!!!!, anyway as you can see from the article ,when all the dust had settled and many folks pacified, it was resold .

But to whom ?? and were??

Cheers ,
            Peter.

i know what you mean - actually i wouldn´t have bought it for 220.000 or 100.000 BP ...if it would have been up for auction on ebay - surely it would realized it but maybe it would have brought a couple of thousand dollars not more,, i suppose

anyway - i heard that it is in arabic emirates now ! :ra:

but only till christmas because then .... :bat:

oh, isn't he wicked.........but must admit that I use an electric razor as well ;)  and always handy to have some of those Prices candles in case of power failure.
Ah, yes, thanks Christine, now I remember which jug it is we are talking about  -  I remember we have spoken of this piece before, several times I think.

 >:D >:D >:D

I think I must have been a very good bad girl, (or M's suffering from guilt about having lots of holidays and leaving me at home)..... but too many things were getting to me, meeting Alison Kinnaird, Jindrich's posting of images of a Vladimir Klein exhibition reminding me of my eternal regret after not buying a bit I loved.... the hope that I might get a decent price for my decanter which may be rock-crystal cut....

But I now own the Alison Kinnaird piece.  :rah: :rah: :rah:

Pics later. Light isn't good just now, besides, I'm having trouble keeping my dribble off it!
