Title: Bohemian or Scottish?

Picked up this pretty little paperweight today. Many of the chips look like cane fragments. Fire polished base with lots of wear. Nice clear glass. Four "picks and a large central bubble. 2.5 in diameter and 1.75 in high. Is it Bohemian or Scottish, and if it's Scottish, who is the most likely contender please? Thank you.

My first thought was American, but then I do not recall seeing cane fragments in the American weights I have seen like this.

I'd say it's a Perthshire Paperweights "Aladdin's Cave" (or "fountain") weight, designation PP7 (PP8 was the same except it had three layers instead of two). Made 1969 to 1971 and had a variety of coloured grounds.

I was a little bit tempted to say Perthshire myself, but thought I'd leave it to those who know better.

In Crieff, just the other week, I saw some really, really lovely weights, in a similar vein but far superior, being made now by Peter MacDougall.
Egg-shaped, they contained three layers of fountained millifiori canes.

I think they were around £35.
I didn't think they were expensive for what they are. I also think his work is something rather special - one to look out for.
He doesn't seem to have a website, but I found these....

Those ones are certainly very nice, though some of his more ordinary ones don't fetch much on fleabay.

He is just not properly appreciated yet, I think.
He does seem to do a fair range of complexities - from simple, very affordable but beautiful (IMNSHO) little "broken cane" scrambles, to high end complexity such as the two illustrated there.
Personally, I think his work is superior to John Deacons'.

And the three tier fountains are rather stunning - I didn't have my camera with me to take any pics for you, and thought it was too presumptious (and a bit much dosh) for me to just grab one for you. I was a little tempted to, though.

He sells his new paperweights in the Caithness centre there.
