Lidded powder box diameter 12 cm (4 and something/somethingth") - at least I assume it is for powder, not for serving horse doovers. The image is enamel hand painted, the side has single horizontal lines as decoration.
I am assuming Czech or German, but can anyone place it in time? Is it thirties, or is it fifties? Having a hard time making up my mind on this....
p.s. there is a retail label on the inside which does not disclose anything.

Hi Ivo...just a wild guess -- but could it be like a Western Snuff (tobacco) box for a man to carry in his pocket -- ?? with just a Western theme of the horses on it...Just thinking out loud here....??

Thanks but it would be a tad fragile for horsing around as this is thinly blown glass. I was more thinking of little girls with riding boots and twice weekly tantrums whose room is pasted full of posters with wet eyed hairy beasts with soft muzzles.

Oh, no. You've seen pictures of my room. :spls2:
I can't help with the bowl. The white horse looks crazy with the wide eye. The shape of the bowl doesn't make me think of a powder bowl. It may just be a decorative dresser piece.

I have this 'nagging' thought that I've seen them somewhere, just can't remember where ;)

Reminds me of the Chance powder bowls in the Fiestaware range... is it that type of glass? David E. might be able to help if it is.
