I thought this had to be Sowerby, in view of the 'saw tooth' rim - a feature of theirs that ocurs both before and after the second war - however, don't see it in the catalogues. Interesting feature of this piece is that unlike the moulded Sowerby 'saw teeth' rims I have seen - this dish has all of the 'teeth' individually ground and slightly bevelled! Flat, ground, outer rim on the base, with a lot of wear. Other distinctive character is the oval moulded 'blob' in the centre of the base. About 10.5"/267mm long. Just thought it was a bit interesting - although for what use I know not - deepish 'banana split' - 'cucumber dish' - but only guessing really. Needless to say, no marks - although I suspect almost certainly pre second war. Grateful for any ideas, and thanks for looking. :)
