Hi all
another one from the job lot.
Very pretty latticino and colour ribbon crown weight with 4 small facets around the upper part.
The base is flat and well polished. The ribbons are 4 different colours.
Very nice quality weight. 7.25cm wide.
Any ideas on a maker? thought possibly Fratelli Toso, but obviously there where a few others doing these weights
Its quite difficult to tell the age just from wear as i bought a box of 40 paperweights and virtually all of them have no wear at all, including a couple of early perthshire, and a Harris signed Mdina weight. They all look like they have been either packed away from new or been put in a cabinet and never moved again (buyers dream).
Most of the weights seem to date from around the 1970's-80's. Will get a picture of all of them and pop it onto the cafe.
cheers very much michelle

Facets strike me as totally out of character... damage repair perhaps?

Quite possibly Frank, never noticed before they are quite wonky, although otherwise well done.
Shame as its a real pretty weight, but to look on the bright side it means its a one off :24:
cheers
