Title: Where does this paperweight come from - Murano I hope
Post by: ahremck on November 13, 2010, 01:41:27 PM
I bought this on Ebay because I like the clean canes and the neat base.  I assumed it may be Murano and am wondering if one of you, more expert, could verify that, and if so give me a likely factory name.

I see a lot of these types pws. I don't know who made them, but, yes, I do believe they are recent Murano.

3 Fiori may be a possibility.  Here is a link to Alan Thornton's Murano Paperweight Project showing a couple of examples (3&6) that have the style of flower cane shown in your weight.  Unfortunately, it seems many Murano weights are destined to remain a mystery.  It's a shame, really. >:(

Hope this gives you a place to start ..... Lily  :)

Is 3 Fiori still in business?

No - I assume they closed in (or even before) 2004, when Michele and Dino Citron, together with Maurizio Zaffalon, founded the Millefiorifactory.
