Title: Small crocus holder?? Help in I.D. needed
Post by: carolglass on November 21, 2010, 05:25:06 AM
Greetings, could any one please check out auction # 332370098 on Trade Me.co.nz  and give me a bit more information on said item- is the colour sprayed on? The traders auction details are sparse and a little strange to say the least. Any information would be welcome.
 regards Carol

It looks like a hyacinth vase rather than a crocus vase. A similar one sold on ebay UK recently but unfortunately it's not still there. As I recall it sold for a reasonable amount (over £50?). It reminds me of Thomas Webb Burmese glass but I don't know much about that so can't say if it looks genuine.

good one, go for it. It is Burmese, not milk glass and the colour is not sprayed on. The surface is satinated.

:hiclp: :hiclp: Cool! Many thanks Ivo and ju1i3- the reason I tried crocus holder is that it was a little smaller than my mum's hyacinth clear glass holders. Again many thanks. regards Carol

I quite like the fontanel(le). Does that mean that babies are hand blown?
