Post by: WhatHo! on November 22, 2010, 06:31:59 PM
What Ho! Can someone please give the designer/maker and date of this Czech vase please. I know its Czech because i have a photo of one in a Czech exhibition but not a name on it unfortunately!! Its rather like a a very large Whitefriars golden Amber Tricorn at 12" with a flat ground base. TIA Wolfie

Hello Wolfie,
I'm not quite sure your vase is Czech -- I don't recall seeing anything similar in the Glasrevue, or in any of Jindrich's catalogues or pages.       Of course, I could be wrong.

I am pretty sure the vase is Czech too, though I have not been able to attribute it as yet.

I am 99% I saw one a few years ago in a dark purple colour with a Bohemian label on it!  Wish I'd bought it now!!!

Wolfie, thank you for the picture from the exhibition.  I'm surpised that the vase is Czech -- though I've seen these 'bone' vases 2 or 3 times on Allegro, I haven't seen / noticed them in any Czech glass source.  I'm still learning.  :usd:
