It's a stand for a big marble..........

TMSK Restaurant opened in 2001 as a hand-crafted Liuli theme restaurant. With no other establishment like it, TMSK quickly garnered the attention of the culinary and design worlds in addition to traditional media outlets. New York Times, Wallpaper, ELLE, BBC and NHK are among those that have profiled the restaurant. The trend started by TMSK has become a model for interior design in China and beyond.

I'm sure the initials could well read TMSK, Max, and the quality seems to match too.

A beautiful work of art, Ivo, and very interesting posts that follow! Your link really does lead to a feast for the eyes, Frank; thanks for posting it. Sue, are you serious about Ivo's glass being a marble stand? (It well looks the part.) Max, great detective work!
My best ..... Lily :D

Of course it is not a marble stand, clearly a cocaine/opium mortar. :nogos:

Amazing, Frank! That's what I thought too!
