I have had this lovely blue Millefiori jug for a couple of years, and I keep thinking I might sell it as I don't collect jugs, but then the sun comes out and shines through it, and I think Heh he, it is so pretty. :sun:
Is there any way I can tell the maker? Toso perhaps? :rah: It has gold aventurine in the clear glass twist handle and a reasonably well finished pontil mark.

The base....sorry Anne....it is late though!!
-
I'm using the excuse of posting the jug the right way up to try to get some interest in this gorgeous jug.....come on you lot have a go please, I know very little about millefiori work!!
-
Oh no! It still comes out sideways....I Hate Picasa...it shows you the picture the right way up and sends it sideways....help please, I need a technical wizard!! :X:
-
One thing I am not is a technical wizard..... but, your photos are the wrong way up because Picasa is showing you the photos rotated but is not actually rotating the original image (if that makes any sense). I use Picasa too but only for uploading to my albums, I use a different photo browser and editor to rotate my images, etc (it came with my camera). You will need to find the option (in Picasa or when you download the images from your camera to your computer) which will allow you to 'rotate the actual image'.

Thanks John, here's another go...if it works, it will be a miracle!! :X:

Yay!!
My 'Technical Wizzard' is called John as well...trouble is, he talked me through it, so I still couldn't do it myself anyway!! :usd:

Technical wizards are just the people who have read the instructions (and remember them). ;D
Not to be confused with Anne, who of course is Da Tekniqual Wizzerd (extrordinaire)....

Hi Rosie I use Picassa and find it easy to use just click on the photo then click on edit at the right hand side takes you into Picnik and you can rotate, crop the photo lighten or darken then gives you an option to replace it with the original or make a new copy. Have a practice believe me if I can do it anyone can :-[

:-[ Oooohhhh I've gone all unnecessary! :ooh:

Nobody will EVER call you unnecessary Anne!! :kissy:
But wasn't I clever doing this all by myself!!? You will never know the hoops I had to jump through to get this picture to load the right way up*.....SO somebody out there. PLEEEEEEEEZE tell me who made this jug!!
* I had to stand on my head to do it!! :usd:

Try Fratelli Toso.
-
Really Ivo? I had hoped it might be....does that make it special or just run of the mill??
-
just do a google images search (or cooliris if you have it) and decide for yourself.

Hi , I use picasa and i think you will find it has all the basic tools available , from a pic file in Picasa double click an image and this will take you to the edit page and display your pic , on the left is all the editing features , and on the bottom toolbar are the rotate left and right icons , upload, export, zoom etc , once you have edited go 'back to library' found top left, then you must save the changes you have made by clicking on the floppy file icon next to the large share button, all in Picasa with no need to go to picnic or any other programme for that matter ,unless your needs are far more technical .
cheers ,
Peter.

Thank you for the Picasa lessons Chris and Peter....now I know where I have been going wrong.
I used the rotate icon, and it showed it the right way up, but didn't know I had to save it!! :thud:
Looks like I've got a lot of homework to do over the holiday!!
