Title: Pendant...Millefiori ?
Post by: antiquerose123 on December 09, 2010, 02:40:03 AM
:hi: I got this.  I am assuming that it is Italian Millefiori [ HERE ] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millefiori)  But then on the same hand, not sure IF other companies made knock-offs.

I have found some on the Net, but the top loop is different.  This top loop is just attached right to the item, in a circle.  The others I have found (maybe newer ones) have like a triangle clasp at the top of the Pendant.  So just wondering IF this *might* be older -- and if it is Italian Millefiori?

It is about a 1 inch big.  I have not taken a magnifying glass to it to see if it has any marks on it.  Is this real, or are these made a Dime a dozen?  Any idea on year, or maker of it (if possible)?

Thanks  :kissy:

~ Question ~ :
Why does the Spell check here (glass Board) not recognize words such as: Murano, and Millefiori ??     :24: :spls:

either La Murrina or Antica Murrina jewellery, probably from the turn of the century, so not very old. But made in Murano at least.

I don't think it is by Antica Murrina perhaps La Murrina.  Antica Murrina always puts on their loops their initials (AMV).  They also use the triangle type loop with their initials on the loop.  I am still betting yours is Murano though.
