Title: Identification of decanter with engraved coat of arms
Post by: tate9852 on January 05, 2011, 01:28:23 AM
Hi there, I recently bought this lovely crystal decanter with an engraved coat of arms. To me the piece looks English, but really have no idea. Any help would be appreciated.

It's fleur de lis or fleur de lys and not necessarily confined to France or the PoW. I think you need to search coats of arms

The order of Saint Louis surrounding it is a dead giveaway, though.

Ah! Yes, I see it, the cross at the bottom. Nice going!!!!  Anyway...I was trying to find out if this was a common type piece, a repro, if anyone had seen a similar type, age, what it's called, maker, etc, anything really.
