Title: FM Konstglas Numbering
Post by: Humbug on January 06, 2011, 12:30:37 PM
Hello

I have bought a clear crystal swan which is engraved with "FM  Ronneby Sweden 040-150".

Can anyone help identify/date this from the number?

Many thanks

Humbug

If it's about 150mm tall, that would explain the last three digits.

First letter/number combo is article number (C159); second number is size and third 2-digit # is colour code.  Could be the 3rd is missing as no colour?

Hi Humbug,

May we please see a picture of the Swan. The model is D40 and not 040.
Does your swan have a label?

Then I can correct Ivo's information. Your swan is correctly signed.
FM Konstglas/Marcolin Ronneby, Sweden, do not include the colour code in the signature.

Hi Ivo,

That's interesting! Could you please show me a photo of this signature, thank you!

The colour codes are included in the catalogues, for ordering purposes.

1) photo from company catalogue of Angelfish M-236-17-62 (colour code 62)
2) Angelfish M-236-17 from my collection
3) photo of inscription on my Angelfish: Marcolin Sweden M236-17

FM Konstglas/Marcolin Ronneby, Sweden, do not include the colour code
in the signature on the base/bottom of the objects.

Aha that explains the misunderstanding in the number decoding section.

Hello

Aaagh... I never expected that glass collecting would also mean developing (!) my photography and computer skills. I've managed to get hold of the camera and the computer now that my digital youth are back at school so here goes...Hopefully they are clear enough, but photographing clear glass and crystal is not easy, and any tips/links to other threads etc would be welcome.

Humbug

Thank you for the photos.

I date your swan to approx. 1976-1982.
