I bought this the other day, obviously Jacobean with reg No. but with added engraving and green staining, has anyone come across any more like this ? and can you add any info ? thanks Ian :X:
-
Can only give you the manufacturer,Clayton Meyer and the reg' date of 17th Dec' 1923 ;D

Ian, that is interesting. I've not seen Jacobean with extras like this before but others may have. The Regd No is beautifully clear which points to it be an early pressing from the mould used. Examples I have just have "Jacobean registered design" without the number. Can we add copies of your pics to the Registered Design album on GlassGallery too please?

Keith, Clayton Meyer were the registrant (firm who registered the design) which was not always the folks who made it.

Hi, you certainly can use the photos Anne.
Jacobean glass was made by Josef Inwald AG in Czechoslovakia and imported by Cleyton Meyer. More info here http://www.cloudglass.com/ClaytonMayers.htm . This one is early, it has a flat ground base and is 11.5cm tall. I have a later one at 10.5 cm which has "JACOBEAN (REGD)" on one side of the base and "REG No 791409" to the other.

Sorry should be Clayton Mayers :thud:

Ahhh Glen, :-[ I'd forgotten your carnival versions - they are gorgeous! :kissy:
So, if the carnival ones and the engraved one carry the RD no 702446 why does Ian's other ones have a different RD no? "REG No 791409" - now I'm confused!
Ian thanks for allowing us to copy the pics, I'll get that done now.
-
Ahhh I re-read the piece on Glen's webpage and now know why the two different numbers - in fact, Glen says there are 3 registered design numbers for Jacobean. No wonder I'm confused! :pb:
-
Sorry Anne,always forget that :pb:

We're both in the dunces corner now Keith. :kissy: :24:
