Title: Green beer mug/glass Scandinavian?
Post by: chriscooper on January 19, 2011, 03:53:53 PM
Any help on pinning down a maker certainly looks Scandinavian in colour and style

I'd consider Krosno (Poland) or Italy

Something I never considered Christine, the fire polished rim, handle shape and the ground out polished pontil mark were all saying Scandinavian  :-[
Some reason the photo doesn't really show the shape right it's a lot narrower at the top than it appears?
Dimensions are 5.5" high 2.5" across the rim 3.5" across the base, plenty of ware on the base.
Not sure where to start with Italy? will have a search for Krosno for some reason I always associate the jugs and glasses that are often miss- attributed to Whitefriars and Scandinavian with Krosno.

Strömbergshyttan did similar things.

The Strombergshyttan ones are seriously thick and weighty though aren't they? Chris's looks thinner than those.
