6 inches high,no nibbles or chips, presume from a number of places, what were these people smoking?
-
Nice one!
-
Mmmm
-
I bet Leni will like that! It's like her triffids or whatever it was they were called!
-
I remember the B-movie "The Day of the Triffids" back in the early 60's.
-
Hi, yes, definitely related to my 'triffids' ;D Although I tend to collect only uranium ones, I do have a few in clear and green, like this. Some people identify them as 'Webb', some as 'Richardson', but the general consensus is that they are 'Stourbridge' of some sort, as they were made by several companies. The problem is, some seem to have been made by continental and / or 'Bohemian' companies as well! I gave up trying to pin them down ages ago! ::) ;)
-
Keith, they were probably smoking opium - the correct sorts of dates tie in. :sm:
Ohio - the film is why some of us call these beasts Triffids - the name has sort of stuck - to the point we forget it's not actually an official title for these fabulous and weird pieces of glass! :-[

;D I think you'll find they're more commonly called 'Thorn' vases or 'Rustic' vases, but to me they'll now always be Triffids .... or, in the case of the more flower-like ones, 'Audreys' >:D Does anyone (other than Sue ;) ) get that reference? ;D
-
>:D ..... "Feed me, feed me - now"....
-
Like Triffids, the book was the first sci-fi novel I ever read (10 years old!) I met the man behind the voice of Audrey many years ago in Quinton,of all places.
