Title: 'Tango' question
Post by: keith on January 21, 2011, 06:28:43 PM
'Tango' is two colour glass so do these qualify having one base colour and having EPNS rims?(smallest just over 2 in's across)

I feel as though I should let you down gently Keith but I think you are barking not so much up the wrong tree as in the wrong forest. ;D

Two colours of glass...... The second colour is often trailed decoration, like the stripes on the body or the rim of this vase: http://picasaweb.google.com/Johnmj100/CzechGlass#5560137385431166466

Bravo John  :po: way to go!

I believe the red glass with the metal trim is actually German. Not sure who or how long or how many variants - but we seem to see rather a lot of them here. It was a popular colour in the 1930s - along with orange and opaque green. But only the ones with a contrasting trailing count as Tango.

I would have divulged if it were known. My personal favourite candidate is Strangfeld & Hannemann - but it could have been any of a dozen factories or so.
