I seem to have bought several things recently that have come from China & Taiwan, hoping that these haven't. They are3 inches diameter and have raised pattern on underside. Any ID ideas welcome. John

No, I don't think so. I think they are probably candleholders from the Kastelhelmi range designed by Oiva Toikka for Nuutajarvi Notsjo. But again.....I could be wrong ;D I need to qualify that as well by asking is the colour an intense turquoise? I have some turquoise ones, but yours look a little lighter than mine, though that could just be the light.

Thanks m nine are definitly turquoise the photo was taken under artificial light, I will try and get some better ones later today and repost. John

The correct spelling is Kastehelmi. Some of the range (bowls and plates) is still being made today by Iittala (who took over Nuutajaarvi) in clear, light blue and apple green.
I think your candleholder is blue rather than turquoise. This colour seems to have been withdrawn in 1973. See here (https://secure.iittala.com/web/myiittala/130). All the range isn't shown.
The colour M is thinking of is shown here here (http://www.20thcenturyglass.co.uk/glass_encyclopedia/scandinavian_glass/nuutajarvi_glass/nuutajarviglass_home.htm)

Actually I have confused myself - is the turquoise that 'I' refer to actually called Blue?
I also didn't think the little candleholders had been reintroduced - but I could be wrong.
I'll go have another look see.

Turquoise was the original colour, blue was introduced later for a short time (see my first link). Light blue is one of the new colours for plates and bowls. There are only plates and bowls in the latest issue. http://www.iittala.com/web/Iittalaweb.nsf/en/products_eating_dinnerware_kastehelmi

Chris, my handy hint #743 might help:
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,19556.0.html it works on all eBay item numbers and makes nice short links.

Or use the BB code alternative. Do not use any spaces (I've had to add spaces to get the characters to show!) except the ones essential in your descriptive phrase
Type [ url=
Paste the url right after the =
Type a ]
Type a word or phrase describing the link
Type [ /url]
and there you are
[ url=www.lustrousstone.co.uk]My Gallery[ /url]
comes out as
My Gallery (http://www.lustrousstone.co.uk)
if you remove the spaces after the [
