Is this tat ortreasure as you can see it is signed but the signature is very vague.....Any ideas on maker please???
-

The first word looks like "turn", I've not a clue what comes after that.
It does look a little like some bottles made by Karlin Rushbrooke,
(my Mdina head, obviously, says "Fishie!" - I don't think it's Mdina. It's just dipped on both sides like a Fish vase is.)
-
Hi there
i cant make out the signiture on your piece, but also similar to Ed and Margaret Burke perfume bottles which are like the Mdina fish vase (I have one of these, which is the closest ive got to a fish vase unfortunitly )

Last word looks a bit like 'studio'?

I thought Turn and then, maybe, studio and have searched for any possibilities and have dran a blank. I see what you mean regarding the resemblence to fish vases!

Ed and Margaret Burke's work is marked EM. (I've got a lovely bowl).
Sometimes, owners of bits of glass write things on them, such as their own names. I'm not saying this has happened here, just that folk should be aware that it can happen.
What is written on a bit of glass can sometimes confuse, more than assist, identification.
Adam Aaronson has told me that this partial casing by side-dipping is a technique most glassmakers learn nowadays.
In answer to your question though, I think it is definitely NOT tat.
-
Does it say Sarn Glass Studio, in which case it is the Burkes?
-
I think it is a Karlin Rushbrooke piece. The sig looks like his which is incredibly difficult to read. I'll have another go at photographing a sig for a comparison. Actually edited to add - could it read Turnmill Studios?
If so, there is information all on this thread -

:hiclp: :hiclp: :hiclp:
I'm positive that's it - Turnmill Studio - Yay!!!!
(which would tie in ver-rrrry neatly with what I said Adam said.....*smug*)
-
Ooooo it looks so obvious now - thank you so much *Smug* :hiclp: :hiclp: :hiclp:

Nice to see another Turnmill piece.....what a pity the signing isn't as clear as my lovely blue ellie though. There was no trouble at all identifying that one.
That's a lovely perfume bottle peejyweejy.....and Turnmill Studios are closed now, so it is certainly not Tat, and will become ever more collectable. Great find! :rah:

Thanks Rosie - The signature is extremely vague, I had to take it on macro and then zoom in several times to get it to be elligable. Your ellie is wonderful! Thanks to everyone for your input, couldn't have done it without you lot!
