I guess it could be new, it's in perfect condition, but if so I have not been able to trace who might have made it. although as I'm typing I've just had a thought that I've not checked Adrian Sankey's site and I know he is doing lighting isn't he?
I have also been through every single picture I can think of thinking it may be a Bohemian piece and I cannot match the colours or the decor at all either, whether looking at vases or shades.
It measures 7" (18cm) tall x 5" (12.5cm) wide and the hole space for the fitting is 1 1/2" (3.75cm approx) if that helps at all.
Any thoughts much appreciated. Many thanks :)

Bizarrely, I've just 'seen' this again having another search through and I think this Cisele vase colour (not the spots but the turquoisy colour) is the same background as my lampshade
Scroll down and I'm looking at the vases that are third picture down on the right hand side of the page on this link:
http://sites.google.com/site/loetzandglass/loetz-from-a-to-f
their background colour looks as though it is the same when they are enlarged.
or is it just me being wishful ::) they don't seem to have the same interior cased.

Wishful thinking I would say.

;D ok, So assuming it is modern, who could it be? that body colour and iridescent effect is remarkably similar to the link I gave so someone is making some amazing iridescent glass shades out there. I've searched British studio glass makers as best I can for those whom I can recall who might make similar and come up with nothing... any names would be gratefully received :) Maybe it's contemporary Czech glass? Or perhaps French?
The fitter end is 1.5" inside measurement of the actual hole and measures 2" diameter from outer cut edge of glass to the other. I'm thinking that is too small to be an old piece but I don't really know. I have one old lamp but the shade fitter end is much wider than that. I used to have a three arm art nouveau lamp (stolen in a burglary >:( ) and I know those shades had much smaller fittings but I can't remember how small :-\
thanks again

There are blenty of British Glass Makers making this type of glass today. I would agree with Lustrousstone that its not your 1st guess. These are made by the thousands for theme pubs.

ooh thanks Mike. I hadn't thought of them.
And if there are loads being produced, then I'm hopeful I'll find a match - I need two for a landing hallway.
Actually I haven't checked Christopher Wray out either - do they still exist? It's the kind of thing they used to stock.
thanks again

you could also look at Siddy Langley, I know she produced some irridescent pieces which are fairly recently. Although, I think that the majority of her work would be signed near the base....just a thought.....
-
Thank you G. Unfortunately it isn't signed which would have been helpful :) I guess if they are being made in their thousands then trying to sign them would be a time issue that is not affordable. I suspect I will not be able to id this one as I've not come across anything like this at all on my net searches. But perhaps in a few years when all these places are refurbished we'll see plenty of them around. So I shall still keep an eye out in case I come across another.
thanks everyone for your help :)

This is better quality than those being supplied to the pub trade.

:hiclp: well done!
Mine went a long time ago to a very happy person whose lamp it fitted and who had just broken their shade. They are superb quality glass.
Gareth was it you who had a vase like this? if you read this Heron may then be the source of your vase?

Five Heron glass lamps from their website catalogue (now defunct).
-
magic anne
i suppose you could buy any shade with any stand.
-
Don't know to be honest. I do know that you could buy shades without the lamps. Amy said she still had some lampshades in her stock last year if that helps.

Picked this Heron table lamp up today, judging by the label this is shape 03, the second half of the code could be shade shape and colour.
