Title: "Tiger" striped yellow/orange vase
Post by: Andy B on February 14, 2011, 07:51:07 PM
Hi folks,

Have Googled this vase but with no joy. It stands about 6" (153 mm) high by 4.5" (114 mm) wide and pontil mark has been ground out. The pattern is more visible from the outside - if that makes any sense. As though it overlaid. Having said that the pattern is definately below the surface. Hope that isn't too confusing.....

I would be grateful of any ideas of it's provenance :) .

Many thanks,

Andy

To me, that looks as though it might be Polish. Anik might know for sure!

Hi,
When I saw this vase yesterday, 'Polish' immediately came to mind.  Though I haven't been able to find this exact vase, Huta Szkła Józefina (http://www.jozefina.pl/oferta.html), Galicjan (http://www.galicjan.com/pl/oferta/wazony), and especially Makora (http://www.makora.com/pg/pl/galeria.html) make similar items.
Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment.
