Hi folks i dont buy much on ebay these days but i couldnt resist this Italian Ele , i know who i think made it but i would like some opinions , the bottom of the feet have been highly polished but have that old look sort of gone gray like my hair . Anita what do you think if you want to use the clear pictures for the zoo i will ask the seller - who has good attitude ...! jp :X: i think .ebay no 270702847437 ps Its hollow blown and cane eyes

i saw that too jp, lovely figure,
I had wondered if it could possibly be Salviati withe the type of eyes used and the gold in the tusks, oh and the body colour.
Here comes the but, I wonder if Salviati ever made such a model.
Best I can do JP, nice buy though :hiclp:

jp, it is a nice elephant. I have no idea who did it. I thought maybe Fratelli Toso, but I haven't seen these types of legs in elephants I know that they did. If we can figure out who made it, it would look very bright and colorful in the zoo. I do not think it is Salviati because of the cutting of the upper legs. I've never seen any of their animals finished like this. Surprisingly, as distinctive as elephants look, they can be among the hardest to attribute. I noticed there is a similar red elephant being offered. I wondered if they were a pair.

Where do I find the zoo please? I'd love to see it. :usd:

Yes Anita same seller but there are subtle differences particularly the legs , so they were not mass produced but hand made , they have a likeness to some of the early Barovier Elephants i have seen , applied in the same manner .

Dear Rosie i am so sorry and embarrassed to admit i can only manage photos on ebay as my son set it up to make it easy for me , thats why i keep getting my wrist slapped by a couple of the beautiful young lady mods for sticking my sales in the wrong sections , i enjoy collecting and am only selling my collection of many years to help someone very close to me who has major problems and needs help . If i ever get respite from it i will
have a go . :-[ :pb: :hi:

Oh JP, I had no idea....what a lovely person to be selling to help someone else..... :fwr:
Please let me know if you are listing any glass animals or birds, I would always look and see if they would fit into my collection.....I would rather buy from people I know anyway......if you know what I mean.
