I have seen one of these before in blue cased in clear, the seller had it described as designed by Vladislav Urban but at the time could not tell me where their info came from. Anyway, I have my doubts about that so does anyone have any other ideas?
Sorry, photos not the best, thick heavy glass, the deeply moulded pattern varies on each face, flat moulded base, the rim is cut and polished nicely. 12cm tall.
Thanks.

for some reason I thought this was Scandinavian especially when you said blue..... Ruda maybe? I'll have a look around. Is it definitely Czechoslovakian? Oh I'm thinking Josef Schott for Smalandshyttan? Are you?

I am generally and in this case specifically, clueless. ;D

check out the Starkeld site - they have one listed.
I haven't checked to see if it is the same though, sorry.

Interesting, you may be right, googling Josef Schott and Smalandshyttan does bring up one like this in blue and a couple of similar examples. Now where did they get their info from? I see no labels yet though.....

Yes, that one is labelled! http://www.starkeld.com/showprod3.asp?cat=322
About a third of the way down the page.
Thank you Michelle.

John on the clear ones on their site it says 'labelled and impressed in the glass'. Is your's impressed somewhere maybe?
m
-
Yes, and your one is the clear vase on the site almost at the bottom. The ones higher up (blue and cinnamon) are different patterns.
-
You can see it in the third photo too, the design impressed into this one is ever so slightly different to the one in that photo and after a careful look this vase definitely does not have Schott impressed anywhere.
John

I meant yours of course, not your's ;D
ah, I wonder how come they have an impressed mark then on the ones on the site?
m
-
Not cs glass I suppose. But surely not Urban.

Thanks Jindrich.
They used more than one set of moulds and they were not identical, this is not unusual, moulds can get worn, lost, damaged, etc. The differences I can see (to the clear version on that site) are so tiny that I have no doubts that this one is from Smalandshyttan.

Michael (rocco) just posted this link. There“s the vase, when you scroll down:

yes that 's the one Dirk.

I will take some more photos for comparison.

Comparing this vase with the one on Starkheld (shown there with 3 photos), front and back match but there is a difference in the pattern of five raised dots one one side. It has been made wider on this vase as it also fills the space taken up by SCHOTT on the other vase.
Thanks again M. :hiclp:
