Hi can you please help is this a true carnival goblet or not it has four Fleur-de-lys around the sides .Thank you
-
Robert, I've moved your topic into Glass as we don't know if it is American yet. Carnival was made in other countries too, although most commonly associated with the USA, I know. Having said that, I'm not sure yours is Carnival after all... hopefully Glen will pop in and give your her opinion soon.

Thank,s Anne

Has it got surface iridescence (like petrol on water)? If not then it's amber pressed glass, which is what it looks like to me. Also, if it were carnival, the base glass colour should be clear (in this particular case) and you should be able to spot that somewhere.
-
At first glance I thought it might be Stiver of Florence, but maybe not.
-
Hi it has a no iridescence although the base of the goblet is clear but not the foot if that helps ill post a clearer shot of the base . Thank you Lustrousstone and Cathy B (I'm still learning) :or:

Sorry for got the pic
-
If it has no iridescence, then it isn't carnival glass.
PS by clear I meant colourless
-
It doesn't look iridised (so not Carnival Glass). The shape and style reminds me a little of EAPG (Early American Pattern Glass) but I know close to zero about that, I'm afraid.
Glen
Edited to add this:
There's one on eBay in clear glass - I don't know if it helps, but it's always useful to add more info.

Thanks Glen that just the tickit.

Subject tweaked again to try and attract an EAPG specialist

Hello
Well it is a goblet and it is pressed but it sure ain't early i.e. 19th century. I think it might be late 20th or early 21st century and maybe not even American in origin.
So maybe unknown goblet is a better title instead of EAPG goblet.

To me, it looks orange and no older than the 1970s, but that's just from feel.
-
Hi ,To be honest i thought it felt new the burrs around the mold marks are still sharp and crisp theres no signs of ware . Still its an interesing piece Thank you.
-
I did check my EAPG resources and I cannot find this pattern. It would also be a very unusual color for EAPG.
-
If it has burrs on the mould seams, old (late 19th to mid 20th C) strikes me as more likely. Is the colour really orange or is it brown? I think we may have ruled out the US, but it could be European.

I wonder if it is by the same company as the glasses here http://www.worldmarket.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3978235 (http://www.worldmarket.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3978235) , which are Anthropologie Glass, I think...who ever they are! :wsh:

Perhaps its a modern pieces from Europe ?
