Title: Art Glass Ashtray I.D Looks Familar help - Scandinavian?
Post by: I love all Glass on February 23, 2011, 09:07:16 AM
Hi everyone, Real heavy piece of glass art, Im sure Ive seen it before, but cant put my finger on it. Something I read about Scandinavian design.

It is solid piece of glass, the four sides are all smooth, as is the top and the deep bowl, the base is cut in straight v groves all along the base, that provides all the reflections. Measures 15cm on sides and 5.7cm tall and weight is 2.217kg.

Thanks in advance for any info. All the best   Simon

I hope for you someone comes along and identifies it for you but don't get your hopes up. I would expect it to be mechanical made crystal or cristallo from one of the many modern factories in Northern Italy. Giveaway are the impeccable corners and the mechanical cutting.

Simon, please only post a query in one forum - Mods can and will move it for you if needed if they or others feel it will do better elsewhere. I've deleted your other topic on this item from Glass and am moving this one with Ivo's reply back into Glass, which is the proper place to post a query when the country of origin isn't know.
