Title: Help with identification of fan shaped glass ID = Walsh, Mother of Pearl
Post by: rbm6167 on March 01, 2011, 12:43:48 PM
This wavy-edged fan shaped glass/vase is ribbed, looks old and has an almost metallic ring to it. It has a faint mother of pearl look and is 7.75 inches tall and the same at its widest. Any help with ID greatly appreciated. The base appears to have a broken pontil mark.
Thanks
John

John — classic Walsh mother of pearl, no doubt whatsoever.   Lovely example.

John — There were several examples of Walsh mother of pearl on my stand at the Cambridge Fair on Sunday, including one with a Walsh design registration number.

I saw your post on Is it Whitefriars, but declined to reply, as Walsh is beautiful innovative glass in its own right, not some sort of sad, 2nd rate WF.
