Title: Unknown big purple vase, ID? German perhaps?

It was a bit of a gamble, and I don't think it's the Murano the seller seemed to indicate it could be. The shape reminds me of German 60s 70s glass, especially the work of Jachmann for WMF, but I'm not saying this is one of those (the WMF Jachmann pieces I've seen so far all seemed to have 2 colours, mostly amber &green or blue & purple and have different rims).

It has some wear, though not much at the base, more lots of little scratches on the body - I'm not convinced it's necessarily 60s-70s though it has the style. It could be a bit of retro design and have a more modern origin (but it has enough quality for the price I paid, so I'll be fine either way :) )

It's quite big, 33 cm high, polished pontil, 6 cm diameter at the top and the bottom, 8 cm diameter at the widest point. It's purple, and though the colour fluctuates slightly in different light, I don't think it's Neodymium.

Any ideas?

Especially the finish of the rim and bottom...

Very nice and unusual colourway, if it is :)

Ah, thanks Michael, that's very good news. Another piece of Jachmann to add to my collection!

And good to know for all of us,I think, that Jachmann models for WMF were made in this mono - purple colour as well.

Is it different colours under different lighting? Purple in daylight, but grey-blue under fluorescent lighting?
It looks as if it might be neodynum glass.

I don't think so, Sue. The colour differences in different light are quite minimal. I have some Neodymium ZBS, and they go indeed from pinkish purple to blueish, but this one doesn't change that much in comparison.

It was just that the first photo shows a bluey bit at the base - but probably just a "trick of the light" then.
