Another from me, I think I have the hang of this now (I hope!).
This is a squiggly vase I wouldn't normally go for, cobalt blue, I was afraid it might be Chinese but it seems to have some age on the base. Its pretty substantial, thick and heavy.

China or somewhere similar. That's not age, that's just rough grinding. Sorry

What you see on the base there is not age, but a coursely ground finish. It means the piece was finished on a pontil rod, cracked off and then smoothed over on a grinding belt so it would not fall over or scratch the table. In a quality piece you'd expect a much smoother bottom - anything from matt to mirror gloss. Chinese usually have a better finish than this, but I would not entirely reject the idea. Mexico is top contender, followed by india. Very attractive colour, though.
