Adam, I've just realised who you are! :-[ We know you under your old ID of course, but it's super to see you back with us again, you've been missed. Marcus often wonders how you've been getting on.

Thanks Anne - had many years in the widerness of addiction - been in and out of this rehab and that - this hostel and supported accomodation andd hospital but am actually OK now and still have most of my glass collection including lots of new pieces I picked up along the way.
Thanks for the support and of thinking about me all these years

Is this Adam from Scotland whose name isn't really Adam? If so welcome back, if not welcome back anyway. :girlcheer:
-
Adam I'm so glad to hear it, and delighted to see you back. :kissy: Some of your old topics still get picked up and updated every now and then - we keep on searching for new information.
Almost right Christine, it's Adam from Scotland who we know as David555 but isn't really David. :)
-
The old brain cell is only a little muddled then. We've missed you Adam.
-
Great to see you back Adam :hi: :kissy:.

Which pattern number would the Fidenza vase correspond to?
(Good job getting back on track!!!)
Best Regards
Emil

Hi Emil
My only reference is Judith Millers collectables price guide page 283 (Royal Bohemia) and could be Jiri Repasek?
Ivo and Marcus would know more, especially Marcus who recently wrote a book on Sklo
So I know it's sklo anyway - thats the first vase
Is the second Sklo mould as well? or just Fidenza
Confusing isn't it?
-
Hi Adam!
Repasek never designed glass for SU. The reason I'm asking is because the first vase looks similar to a SU-item, but not identical (at least if my memory serves me right).
The second vase is not SU.
Best Regards

Hi Adam. Welcome back on board, as it were.
I've seen 20 or 30 copies of the first vase. Always marked FIDENZA, ITALY; ITALY with a 5-pointed star; or a slightly larger 5-pointed star with FA (I think it is) inside it on the base.
Last time I went to the Cambridge Glass Fair a couple of stalls were selling these as Sklo Union pieces at £20-30 a pop. When I turned them over, both were clearly marked ITALY!
I've never seen a Czech version of this vase, and remain to be convinced that it's a Sklo Union design.
There are quite a lot of Fidenza pieces from the 60s and 70s that appear to be Czech-inspired, but I haven't yet found any direct rip-offs.
Cheers,
Chris

Welcome back! :rah: It's good to hear that you're feeling better.

If marked Fidenza....are Jamaica and Dalia.
Jamaica was on catalogue from 1981 to 90's.....Dalia from 1975 to 90's
Honestly? A copy.....of the original one....i suppose.
-
Thanks.
Interesting to see your interest in Fidenza amongst others. I have seen a few copies of the first vase since my original post with Fidenza marks. I don't know about Jamaica and Dalia. It would be good to find out what you know.
Thanks
Adam
