Hi all, I thought I would share this with you because the colours are so pretty and I don't know if you have the signature catalogued for future reference....so Anne, if you would like to copy it to signatures, please do.
I watched this glass blower,Paul Brown blowing these and some little birds (surely you are not interested in glass birds Rosie!!), and as this one was reduced in price (end of colour range) and I liked the colour very much, I decided to buy it.....mind you, I don't collect vases!
It says made in Wales, but actually it was made in Ross on Wye, which is where we were staying at the time, and so I am not sure if we should note that these are English?????

Hay on Wye not Ross on Wye by the look of it Rosie. I have just checked my large scale map and according to the address I can find for them (HR3 5DG) that address is in Wales.

Gosh John, you are so right, we were staying at Ross, but went to Hay on Wye for the day!! Well spotted, and thanks. Actually I think I mentioned in a previous thread that I managed not to go in ANY bookshops!! So Welsh it is then! :sun:

Oooohhh I do like that! Thanks Rosie, for the label/signature suggestion. I'll add it to the album now. :kissy:
Eirian Glass don't seem to have their own website, but I found a mention of them on here:

I will take a nose the next time I am in the area, it's only an 18 mile walk along the Hatterall Ridge from my Mum's house to Hay. On second thoughts, maybe I'll drive.....
Shame on you Rosie, visiting Hay, the best town in Britain to buy books and you didn't pick one up on glass? >:D

Hey John, I've been to Hay before, and I am married to 'a bookobsessed'. We have walls lined with books like all you lot have walls lined with glass! When I suggested a wall of shelves backlit with light for my glass, I got look number 43.....that is >:D. When I found a glass blowing centre and a Crystal & Gemstone retailer next door to each other, and several charity shops and antique shops, I was very happy indeed!!
-
Fair enough. ;D
It's a fair few years since I last visited Hay, not sure about that crystal thing though, sounds like a short step to fungi shooing my loo seat. Perish the thought. :o

Another bit of Eirian for reference, a rather nice fish (13cm tall) with signature.

Indeed very Discus. Both the glass and the real fishies are wonderful. :)
