Not sure whether this should be in paperweights? if so would a Mod. please move it.
Just received this, my second piece of John Ditchfield Glass.
It is huge! 15 cm or almost 6inches wide, 12 cm or 4 3/4 inches high, 5 1/2 cm or just over 2 inches thick at base.
it is signed to base J Ditchfield, also Glasform, and also has its label.
Is there any way of telling how old this is? I have checked their website and there is nothing in the current range that looks like this.
Thanks

Hi,
I would send a picture of one side of the piece and one of the base with the signiture as I have never seen a piece of Ditchfield signed with what looks like a hammer and chisel.
http://www.glasform.com/
They will authenticate the piece and if its OK give you a rough date.

It looks absolutely fine to me.
I've got 3 numbered (unique) earlier bits, the Glasform mark varies in size quite considerably, and one smaller one looks like a miniature hammer and chisel have been used.

Thanks Sue and Mike.
Have send some photos off to Glasform. Will post the info when I get something back.

A very prompt reply received from Ditchfield Glass
<<Hello Jackie,Its what we call a landscape paperweight from the Gallery collection it will have been made within the last 5 to ten years, hope this is of some help to you.
Kind Regards
Debbie Glasform Ltd.>>
so apparently made between 2001 -2006.
From their website <<Gallery Collection = These are all signed pieces which John has designed.
Signed J. Ditchfield and Glasform (smaller pieces JD) >>
So I am a happy bunny today :)

Well done, I never mind being proved wrong as we all learn.
Keep hunting.

I quite agree, Mike - if we don't constantly test and question and revise our opinions in the light of any new information which emerges, we can't call ourselves proper researchers, we won't learn anything and we won't have nearly as much fun! :rah:
