These types of vases seem to turn up for me from time too time im always stumped as many seem very modern but this one seems to have good age maybe 60s 70s a fairly marked base with an unusual finish seems like waves in circles into the middle quite unique the colour is vivid like claret red i guess but in some lights it seems to change a bit like amberinna colour glass i think not too sure? Its quite hefty also 13.5 " tall and has a rim of 1 3/4" and base is 3.5" when i say hefty the glass at the rim is 1/4" thick and seems to be fire polished up not slice cut at the edge. Also the rim is cut on an angle from back to front as per picture if you can tell. I thought it might be blenko colour but also has a look of some scandi pieces not much use can anyone help please

I wish I could place it exactly, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was German if not Scandinavian. This particular ruby red glass colour was widely used in German glass in the 70s (WMF (there is a large rubyred series designed by Cari Zalloni, also Hessenglas, Wiesenthalhütte, etc). Sadly German glas of this period is only partly documented.

just wondering but is there a name which you would describe this type of shaped vase... :wsh:

Tall waisted vase with angled opening would be my description, but I'm sure others will have better descriptions.
