Hi All,
I bought this wee vase yesterday, it has a label stating that it is venetian art glass and the word Lido above. I have read the massive link that the GMB search threw up and realise that this is an importers label. Would anyone know when the vase was made and information on a maker or designer. The vase is 7 1/4" tall and seems fairly well made, in my wife's' words ' its quite cute' !
Thanks in advance, David :sc:

Yes, the label is for Geo. Hardy, importers, and has been found on both Italian and Scandinavian glass. I don't know who LIDO is though, sorry, but someone else might do. :)

Thanks Anne, as a bit of extra info I have just put a UV light to it and it glows very strongly.

Hi, I was wondering if any of the members had any further info on this wee vase, maker, date of production, anything, as I have just found it in the attic and want to display it with some other Italian glass. I like to look at bits of glass and have a story to tell if I'm asked, other than Murano glass I don't know surging elsevabout it.
Cheers, David

Hi, I have been googling for a bit on this vase and there is a long thin island called LIDO close to Venice and Murano, is there a list of glass blowing factories in the 50/60's for Italian glass that may show a small one based on Lido, or as it has a busy port, could Lido have been a loading dock for G Hardy exports and that is why the label has Lido marked on it. I have another identical vase to this but in blue and green ( its stored in the attic somewhere ) and would love to be able to find out more about them, usually a label will help nail an ID but these G Hardy labels dont seem to help much. Has there ever been anything found on the company G Hardy that could help out with ID's on glass. Lots of questions few answers!!
Cheers, David
