Very interesting. Probably not Italian; might be Czech or English.
-
Fabulous piece..... I lean towards Czech for it......
I am curious as to where you are located.....
I would also love to see a really large well lit image against a white background to pick up all of the colors....

looks like Czech to me!

This item on our favourite auction site seems to have the same effect  item no - 260596197350 - obviously not the same colour

And a misleading description

But those are not prunts. The thorns are often found on late 19th/early 20th century glass. It's the base colours and the use of aventurine that are more interesting.

yes, sorry I'm aware of that, but I was just thinking that I usually see them on more delicate looking Victorian style vaseline glass type vases - is it fairly common to see them on larger less delicate vases as well?

Here's a Bohemian vase with similar prunts...since the vase in question was blown from the top I too assumed it was of Bohemian origin..

:hiclp: :hiclp: That is very pretty.
All the Colors, and looks like some sparkles in it too. Plus the Thorns on it.......like a Thorn Vase
I like it

Those are not prunts; prunts are applied blobs. Those are just pulled out.
Your vase probably is Bohemian. but not because it's blown from the top! All vases are. The ground rim is an indicator of Continental manufacture, but it is only one of the clues. It's not definitive.
Thorns on larger vases are less usual.

Does anyone think this vase might be Portieux?
