Hi Ho Playmates!!
I bought this little vase today along with two others of similar size and shape, the stallholder said all three were murano the other two clearly are as they have labels, but I'm SURE I've seen this described as something else and a little voice in my head is saying Scandi!! Can anyone Help (with the ID, Not the Voices!!!LOL)
It has an Iridescent Sheen to it and is 3.25 inches (8.5cm) tall.
Any help will be very gratefully appreciated.
Warmest Wishes,
John

You might be thinking of Maija Carlson for Kumela. I've not seen anything by her in this shape, though, and not with any iridescence. You can see what I mean at http://www.designlasi.com/en/esinehaku?keys=&tid2=26&tid5=275&tid1=All&tid3=All&tid4=All
Good luck.

Thanks for the link David, howver I did look at those yesterday but thats NOT what I was thinking of! Its so frustrating not being able to remember, but thats how it is nowadays after my accident and subsequent brain operations. I'm sure it'll come back to me EVENTUALLY!!!!
Warmest Wishes,
John

I was thinking you may be thinking of Tyra Lundgren, but looking at her pieces, the swags are different.

Sorry thats not it either!!! It's so frustrating cos I had it in my bookmarks but I lost everything when my P.C crashed earlier this year. Oh well! I'm sure I'll find it in the end, just a matter of time.
Many Thanks and Warmest Wishes,
John

Reminds me of Wallace and Sanders stuff but they always seem to be marked unless they used labels later.
Just a though John.

Thanks for your input Chris, much appreciated. I'm pretty sure that it is not a Wallace & Sanders piece, though it is similar so I can see where you're coming from, as theirs has a 'pearlised' finish whereas this piece is clear-ish glass between the swags but with an iridescent finish also mine is only 3.25 inches in height. Thanks again.

Perhaps Kosta Boda "Zebra" by Bertil Vallien (pgs 274/275 of the 1986 Kosta Boda Book of Glass").

The iridescence and shape set it apart from Zebra, although it's close.

David & Ross, Many Thanks for your replies. I'm sure that I had previously seen this Vase ID'd elsewhere as by Bertil Vallien, its probably not but thats the attribution I was trying to think of! now to find out who it IS by!!LOL!
Again many thanks,
Warmest Wishes,

I too would be quite sure it is not a Kosta Boda piece - it would not be irreidescent. My suspicion is that it is a decorator piece from :or: sold by someone like Ikea. The importance of a good base photo is apparent here. IAn immaculate base would indicate a quality maker as more likely, a poorly finished one = Asian as more likely.
