Title: Unusual pontil scar on strange little vase???

I bought this on a whim off an auction site recently it has a strange pontil scar appears to have four triangular scars that are positioned facing each other too the base not seen this sort of thing before, The vase itself i havent a clue on bit similar to meadow green whitefriars though think its fairly modern as there is minimal wear standing 5.5" tall base is about 2" any ideas how and why these four scars apposed to the normal one on most pieces maybe someone knows where it was made also thankyou???
