 When I bought this the seller said it was Murano...I doubted it, just didn't feel right to me, but I love it and recently combing this site I came across a kind persons link to Chalet glass showing a similar piece to this. My piece is unsigned /unmarked, I'm wondering if all Chalet glass was marked? Any ideas about this piece gratefully received.... :-[ cheers steph

I would definitely think it might be Chalet, or possibly Lorraine or even AltaGlass. All are Canadian companies. I know Chalet was started by someone from Murano. Not sure about the other two, but possibly. Tended to do brighter colours, lilke that orange. If you do a search on those names, you will find all kinds of information and maybe a twin.
Hey Rose, how am I doing?

Hi there:
Looks like it might be related to this one I have here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34389.0.html (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34389.0.html)
To answer your other question -- Not all Chalet glass is marked, that I know.
But do not Cry Steph, as these Glass makers in Canada were related to the Families in Murano.....and this Canadian Glass here in Canada is on the way up, and getting very collectible here. The wings on these pieces give it that Enames Flair to it made popular in the '60. So please do not shed a tear over the piece :kissy:

......Pretty sure, Not Murano....

There's a fair bit come out about Chalet (and the other companies) in the last six months, mainly due to the work of Deborah, who started the website below, helped organize a museum show of Chalet, and published two booklets on Chalet. It turns out, all the Chalet glass makers were from Murano, and not all of it was marked
It's also become possible to distinguish between the various makers, Chalet, Lorraine, etc. I don't collect Chalet, although I have a few of the more unusual pieces, so I can never remember the differences. I think this is Lorraine, but I'd recommend putting the photo on the Chalet site to make certain.
