Title: My new Murano Opalino milk pudding and raspberry jam bird!
Post by: rosieposie on March 31, 2011, 02:05:00 PM
Just wanted to share this lovely bird with you all....
For all the world it looks like swirls of Raspberry Jam in milk pudding like Grandma used to make!!
It is actually a very beautiful bird...lovely cobalt blue eyes and beak, and the fan tail shows off the Opalino (?) glass beautifully.
If anyone knows who the maker is, I would love to know.... :sun:

Rosie I would call that opalescent glass not opalino.  It could opaline and opalescent (at least I think so, but am open to correction).
Very pretty she is too.

I'm not certain either m, the fiery orange glow only happens when held up to the light.  It isn't the least bit like the little opalescent birdies I bought a few weeks ago and showed here.  Without the light, it looks just a pretty creamy white.
She is pretty isn't she?  I am glad you think so.
