Hi, anyone have any info on this vase (inscribed R. Lalique in script but could not get it to show in photo) also marked made in France in raised letters and 17012 inscribed. I have searched well over 5000 Lalique vases and have not found another like it.
6" tall by 5" diameter
Anyone have any info on this?
thanks

Hi,
Your vase isn't Lalique, it was actually designed by Andre Hunebelle, a French mathematician who turned to glass design in the mid 1920s. The pattern is known as Rose and was available in two sizes. If there is a Lalique mark then it's been added later to deceive - a great shame as it devalues what is a very desirable vase in its own right.
Heres an example of the smaller size from my collection:

This design also appears to have been copied or re-issued lately in Brazil, though yours looks to be original French production.

Thanks for the replies and the info. I have owned this for going on 30 years. I guess that explains why I could never find it carousing Lalique's work. C'est La Vie:)
