Hi can you please help i am trying to determine the age of this vase it is a seaweed glass vase .I think it is by Vicke linstrand .On the base it has (Kosbo L H1782) .I got it in southport yesterday £3.50 . :girlcheer: Thank you
Mod: subject line corrected to read KOSTA not Kosbo
-
I think you mean Kosta. Can we have pictures against a plain background, including a base shot (much as we like being nosy, garden backgrounds don't work for being able to see clearly).
-
Maybe Kosbo stands for Kosta boda, If it is right, you got yourself a bargain... I'm sure someone will know for definate

The mark is for Kosta, this vase predates the merger with Boda. According to Ivo's book (Miller's Glass Fact File a-z) LH is for Lindstrand Handmade, numbers in the range 1640-1784 date between 1958-61. I'm not sure if the year is the design year or production year. Either way it's a very desireable vase and a great find at £3.50

Are these better

Hi:
What a great price! This vase first appears in the Kosta catalogue for 1962-3, but could have been made after that date.

For sure made for more than these years. It's common.

Langhaugh is correct in saying year of design as 1962 (Fire & Sea pg78) Alas that doesn't say length of production - Def a bargain these regularly got for the £100 mark on ebay. Well Done You!
