Does anyone know if Walther & Sohne's "Muschel" bowl was also made to be used with a chrome stand as well as the mermaid figurine?
I'm sure this shell bowl which came with a chrome stand is the same. It glows wonderfully too. I've compared it to the one seen in Pamela's museum, and it looks
enticingly the same. The bowl is almost 9" long x 9" at its widest, and the top straight section roughly 2" long.
There are no markings on the chrome stand, which has a recess at the top presumably to hold some sort of spoon, but it is very well made.
Shown here on its own, and with the stand.
Here's hoping :sun:

Here's a view similar to the one seen with the mermaid figurine.

Looks the same to me http://lustrousstone.co.uk/cpg/displayimage.php?pid=403
Walther seems to have sold us what we wanted; usable with metal fittings being one such option.

Thought as much
Much nicer with the figurine, although interesting to see one with a stand.
Now I need to net me a mermaid - Gone fishing ;)

Hi there,
Did you ever end up finding the mermaid to go with your shell bowl?
If not; would you be interested in selling your green shell bowl?
I have the green mermaid & have been looking for a green shell bowl to match her for approx. 3 years now. To date, no luck :'(
Kind regards,
Sheree.

Sorry Sheree, but I no longer have the bowl. May be you could put out a "wanted" in the "Glass Market Place" section. You just never know, you might get lucky ;)

Hi Anne
Years ago when I first started collecting Walther I went to a local carboot sale and found the same bowl in blue in the same metal stand for £2.

I won mine on an online auction for a pittance :o . If I remember, they had a dreadful picture and a not much better description; not in the correct category either, so it went unnoticed - fortunately for me ;D. I much prefer seeing it on the figurine though. A blue one sounds nice. I suppose they were used as a fruit bowl with the stand.
