I waited 4 weeks for this to arrive, and promised Meegs I would post a picture of it....he is adorable and in perfect condition, wrapped so carefully by the seller.
I am still jumping for joy, I have wanted one of these for ages!
:rah:
Any more information about the maker or date made would be very much appreciated.

He´s a funny one, nice find! Adding Ronneby to the title might be helpful to attract Inca´s attention.
BTW did he cut the hedge in the background? I´d call him Edward then... ;D
-
Hi Dirk :hi:
He didn't cut the hedge......I wish he could, we have yards of the stuff!!
I don't know how to add anything to the title.....Mods...Help please?? :help:
Rosie. :sun:
Mod: Title updated as requested.
-
He's gorgeous, and he can come and live with my snails and lizards any time! :smg:

Hello m, :hi:
He is a magnificent 9" long and just over 4" high at the tip of his 'antenneae'. I have fallen in love with him! ;)

He is beautiful, I've never seen anything like it! :hiclp:
-
Thanks Rosie,
He is one magnificent large caterpillar.
Lucky he didn't emerge from his cocoon of packaging after 4 weeks and fly away :thud:
I do like his positioning and the way he's moving along looking about for his next meal or victim!
Thank-you for posting him.
Cheers
Meegs

Where are you Rose? Is this as good as your 'Secret'?
I am waiting for you to find an animated caterpillar for me....you seem to be able to add animations....I can't!
Hello Mod, has the title re-jig worked, it seems to have reverted to the original?? Can you check for me please?
Rosie. :sun:

Rosie, I'm glad your caterpillar finally arrived (and in one happy piece), and that you sound so pleased. Good for you! :rah:

Aaarhhh! I just noticed that when I put my Mod hat on and changed the title ... I did it for one post ... not for the thread. :thud: Now corrected.

Thanks Rose and Ross.....I knew it was a Ronneby piece, but I would really love to know who actually made 'Ronnie' and what the numbers mean? Ingela, where are you????
-
Rosie! Congratulations! He’s gorgeous, beautiful!
Your caterpillar, C-826, was made approx. 1978-1982
C stands for "COMBINATION"
meaning the designs were a combination from Josef + Benito Marcolin
I have a caterpillar, signed: Marcolin Sweden C-826, made approx. 1984-1985
10" long and 6" high
-
Hi Inca :hi:
I am so pleased you like him.....yours is spectacular....and so different. Rose has christened mine 'Ronnie', does yours have a name??
I couldn't believe my luck as I did a Buy it Now for about half what I would have expected to pay for him, and coupled with the 2 Marcolin Swans, I really had a very good 'Scandi' week. When it took 4 weeks for this to come from USA, I was really worried that I had lost it!!
Thank you for explaining the letters and numbers ...... I want another one now!!
-
Hi Rosie,
I am pleased that you like my caterpillar. :rah:
He doesn't have a name. Could he be Ronnie too, or maybe Ronnie 2? ;D
4 weeks from USA. I know how it feels to wait, I once waited 8 weeks for a Ronneby squirrel to arrive, and I was worried that it had been lost in the mail.
My caterpillar is a bit different and I don't see this effect often, but I just love it!
Marcolin have some stunning effects. Have a look at this one! ;)
-
Wow Inca! That is wonderful......I missed out on an Eagle just before Christmas...when you have to add postage, it does reduce the amount you can bid.... It was huge with outstretched wings and so beautifully marked. Oh now I am making myself more sad!
I must look out for another one.......
My Ronnie says he is happy for you to call your caterpillar Ronnie2, so that's OK. :-[
