Title: Pressed glass peacock blue dish - ID = Sowerby 2349 pineapple
Post by: Anne on January 31, 2006, 02:42:18 AM
Pressed glass, four-part mold, 8" (20 cm) diameter, no makers marks at all. Does anyone know who this made by and the pattern name / number please?

This looks like the Sowerby Pineapple pattern (2349).

Hi Anne - the Pineapple pattern is actually shown in the first Sowerby CD. There's a full page of the shapes shown in the catalogues (Sowerby's 2349). In fact the actual page is shown in a reduced size on this page if you scroll down a bit

The actual shape of your ruffled bowl is shown on that page. I have its twin - and interestingly it was purchased as a duo with the Wickerwork base (3 footed stand - #1102). I have seen other similar matches and I believe this muti-purpose use was intentional.

Super, thanks Glen. I didn't remember it from the Sowerby CD but I shall go and look it all up now. It's a fabulous colour blue for sure!
