Title: Another polar bear
Post by: ahremck on May 16, 2011, 12:10:13 PM
I picked him up in an op-shop.  As you can see he needs a good clean(apologies).  The base is completely flat.

Maker?

Designer?

Help!!!     Ross

I do not think this is FM Ronneby.

I've been having a look at some different polar bears, and I think you are correct Inca....the feet are all wrong.  I didn't look at the base roperly.
Do you think that with the lobg snout it could be a Wedgwood bear Ross?  How big is it?

These are photo's of my Murano bear, his base is very similar in shape and flatness to Ross's.

Both the Ronneby and the Murano pieces are cased though, whereas Ross's is a solid opal shade.

The shape of the head and ears look like distinctive features.

Also compare the base, the edges of base.
Sharp edge? Bevelled edge?

Finally got around to more pictures of my very white(solid white - no clear) polar bear.  He is c.12cms long and 9cms tall, Rosie.

Yes he does have a tail (see Bear Bum photo below).
